  68.     General year-end software/tax form information:
  69.     
  70.     The laser-file forms option has the most flexibility.  You will know
  71.     that you have this option if Insta-Pay prompts you to "use the plain
  72.     paper option to draw the tax form" before printing.  If this question
  73.     appears on the 941 screen, the quarterly laser files are installed.
  74.     If it appears on the W-3 screen, the year-end laser files are 
  75.     installed.  Please check these two screens if you need to find out
  76.     if you have the laser files installed.  A hardware or software T-FONT
  77.     is required for all laser-drawn forms options.  Please remember, this 
  78.     option is not for pre-printed laser forms.
  79.  
  80.     3-Up plain paper can be used to provide a 1 sheet per employee W-2.
  81.     All three of the W-2 employee copies are on the same page (B,2,C),
  82.     eliminating the need to separate and collate the forms.  3-Up paper 
  83.     can also be used to produce 3 1099's per page.  The 2-up plain paper 
  84.     can be used to generate the standard W-2 forms.  You must have the 
  85.     year-end laser files option to use these two types of paper.  If you 
  86.     use the 2-up W-2 plain paper, order 1.5 sheets per employee.

  88.     The SSA requires that W-2 copy A be pre-printed in red.  This copy
  89.     of the W-2 cannot be generated using the laser files option.  The
  90.     W-2 copy A comes in a 2-Up format.   Order 1 sheet for every two
  91.     employees.  The W-3 must be submitted on a pre-printed red form as
  92.     well.

  94.     The IRS also requires that 1099 copy A be pre-printed in red. This 
  95.     copy of the 1099 cannot be generated using the laser files option, 
  96.     just like W-2 copy A.  The 1099 copy A comes in a 3-Up format.  Order
  97.     1 sheet for every three employees.  The 1096 must be submitted on a
  98.     pre-printed red form as well.

  100.     If you have a narrow carriage printer, and would like to print the
  101.     narrow W-2's, choose the year-end option from the main menu, not
  102.     the Print W-2 option on the administation menu.<end>
